Lindel Smith

Lindel Uriah Smith is a graduate of the University of the West Indies and the NormanManleyLawSchool and was called to the Bar in October, 1982.  He is a member of the Jamaica Bar Association and a former Chairman of the Southern Bar Association.

He is a Senior Partner in the Law Firm of Robertson Smith Ledgister & Company and specializes in the Areas of Real Estate, with emphasis on conveyancing and mortgages,  and Probate and Administration.

While studying, Lindel worked part-time as a tutor at the Faculty of Law, Cave Hill Campus, Barbados and in the Department of Government and Politics at Mona Campus, Jamaica.  Over that same period of time he worked as a Research Assistant with the Institute of Social and Economic Research (I.S.E.R) at Cave Hill and Mona and published a number of papers on Government and Politics in the Caribbean. He was also a part time Lecturer in Business Law and the KnoxCommunity College, Spalding, Jamaica. 

Lindel is a past Deputy Chairman of the Rent Board and has served as a member of the Board of Management of the Manchester Co-op Credit Union and as a Member of the Manchester Parish Committee of the Southern Regional Health Authority. He also served on the Boards of the Belair Group of Schools, BishopGibsonHigh School, WinstonJonesHigh School and is currently serving on the May Day High School Board. 

Lindel has been a member of the Mandeville Lions Club, Jamaica for over twenty years and has attained the Ranks of District Governor and Chairman of the Council of Governors for the Lions Clubs of the English Speaking Caribbean.   He is married, the Father of two children and is a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Faith.
